In January, eight boys from Year 11 and 12 participated in the Australian Space Design Competition.
After powering through the qualifying round, the team earned a place in the National finals, tasked with the design of a research settlement on Mars, capable of providing infrastructure for future human exploration and planetary expansion.
With three other schools under the company name ‘Crux’, the team produced a refined proposal, accounting for multiple human and mechanical factors, in the form of calculations, designs and pitches. The experience and opportunity was greatly rewarding.
Congratulations to the students involved:
- Zach Sheraton (Year 11)
- Nathan Khoury (Year 12)
- Jake Hardwick (Year 12)
- Quinn O’Reilly (Year 12)
- Raymond Tan (Year 12)
- Jackson O’Brien (Year 12)
- Christian Peregrina (Year 12)
- Thomas Reid (Graduated, Class of 2020)
