Student Wellbeing

We support the social and emotional welfare of students and their families through effective strategies, recommendations, policies and procedures, guidelines and tools that enable healthy personal development in students and contributes to their academic success.

Parramatta Marist has extensive pastoral care and peer support programs that foster a safe and optimistic environment for students. We focus on developing persistence, resilience and organisational skills. Student achievement is celebrated and students are encouraged to realise their full potential.

Learning at Parramatta Marist

Parramatta Marist is a place where curiosity, imagination and love of learning thrive through working together to provide the most effective, engaging and challenging learning experiences for students.

As one of the 80 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Parramatta, we’re working together to transform learning for students in Greater Western Sydney. This means reimagining and refreshing learning and teaching for today’s world and today’s learners.

At Parramatta Marist, Project Based Learning is one of the innovative teaching practices we employ to engage students in their learning. It exercises and develops important '21st century skills', such as communication, collaboration and creative thinking.

Our faith journey

Parramatta Marist is a great place for students to grow in faith and learning. We value each student as an individual and share the values of the Gospel to help them discover the hope that is within and to experience a meaningful and flourishing life.

The spirituality at Parramatta Marist is based on the life, history and teachings of St Marcellin Champagnat, founder of the Marist Brothers. As a Marist School, we embrace an educational environment centred on our five foundational pillars: Family Spirit, Simplicity, Presence, Love of Work, and In the Way of Mary

Beyond the classroom

We believe it is important for students to pursue interests to find what they are passionate about. Our school gives them exposure to a range of exciting opportunities to unlock their creative potential, develop a talent or follow a passion.

At Parramatta Marist, students develop leadership and teamwork skills across a broad range of opportunities. Debating contests. school orchestra and space design are just some of the activities available.

Extracurricular activities we offer

Sport

Sport is a valued part of a school’s curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child by providing a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning. Participation, enjoyment and skill development are the cornerstones of school sport.

Our internal sports program provides a wide variety of activities that foster competent, well-balanced students who appreciate teamwork. Students can also workout in our very own gym.

Parramatta Marist is a member of Metropolitan Catholic Schools (MCS) sporting association, and is highly successful at this level of competition. Representative pathways are also available through the Parramatta Diocesan Secondary Schools Sports Council.
