We help every student shine!

At Parramatta Marist, we believe it is important for students to pursue interests to find what they are passionate about. We give them exposure to a range of exciting opportunities to unlock their creative potential, develop a talent or follow a passion.

Creative and Performing Arts

We encourage our students to explore their passions and talents. We have a range of opportunities available for students to participate in creative and performing arts activities and programs such as music, drama and writing.

Students have many opportunities to perform. They can play an instrument with the school orchestra or sing with the school vocal group. Our choir regularly performs at the diocesan cathedral for special events.

Through our industry partnerships, students gain access to acclaimed artistic professional organisations, such as the Australian Theatre for Young People and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

School sport

Sport is a valued part of a school’s curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child by providing a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning. Participation, enjoyment and skill development are the cornerstones of school sport.

Our internal sports program provides activities that foster competent, well-balanced students who appreciate teamwork.

Parramatta Marist provides representative pathways through the Parramatta diocese, and is highly successful at this level of competition. Representative pathways are also available through the Parramatta Diocesan Secondary Schools Sports Council.

Public Speaking

Debating and public speaking opportunities prepare our students to become confident and engaging leaders. We are proud of our long held tradition of Marist debating and public speaking. The school debating team receives coaching from a debating coordinator and team coaches to refine their rhetorical and communication skills.

Our students have an enviable reputation for public speaking and have represented the College at:

  • Clift Public Speaking Competition
  • Model United Nations Assembly
  • Marist Schools Oratory Competition
  • Catholic Schools' Debating Association

Excursions, Camps and Retreats

Every student loves to get out of the classroom and explore.

Our students benefit greatly from school trips where they are able to observe new things not available at school such as rare and exotic wildlife and plants, different cultures and the stories of our history. These experiences lead to deeper understanding of learning subjects.

As a Marist School, students participate in retreats and formation days to deepen their understanding of Marist spiritual values such as simplicity and love of work. Along with other Marist schools, Year 11 and 12 students engage in leadership development weekends where they learn how to lead 'in the way of Marist.'

Camps and retreats are also wonderful opportunities for students to develop independence, grow in faith, form strong friendships and make life-long memories!
