On Tuesday 13th November, Parramatta Marist Leaders attended a Leaders Recognition Day as guests of Dr Geoff Lee, Member for Parramatta.
It was an exciting moment for all of us, as it was the first time we had attended the NSW Parliament House. After a quick briefing, Dr Geoff Lee provided us with an extensive insight into the proposed developments in the Parramatta region, budgeting plans and his future plans entering into the next state election in March. This was an interesting time for all of us, having the ability to ask questions to our state representative about our area and how we as young leaders can be an influential aspect into the continual growth of the region.
We were then treated with a comedic question time, as it was the first set of questions the Government were able to receive by the new Opposition Leader, Michael Daley. Many of the leaders enjoyed this segment, gaining us with an insight into how Parliament operates and the antics most politicians display within the chamber.
On behalf of all the leaders, I thank Dr Geoff Lee for inviting us to this informative day and recognising us as young leaders of the Parramatta region.
