On Wednesday 26th June, Year 11 Construction students visited the Abergeldie Construction site at the Schofields Pump Station.
The program was thoroughly prepared by the General Manager of Abergeldie, Janelle Owens.
The students were welcomed at the site by Project Managers, Site Engineer, Project Engineer and a Regional Health and Safety Manager. Each student signed in, received a hard hat and goggles before commencing the program.
The students were divided into 2 groups and guided through the site with an introduction to the project, safety induction, role play of an emergency response and a chemical spill response.
It was a great opportunity for the students to listen to and engage with industry experts. This experience was great preparation for the upcoming scheduled work placement.
